A new pilot program is being introduced to assist employers in obtaining Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) with extended validity periods of up to 36 months. This initiative aims to streamline the LMIA application process, particularly for employers seeking approval for the same job position they have applied for three times before.
The program will roll out in two phases:
1. Agricultural employers will be able to take advantage of this program starting in September 2023.
2. All other types of employers will have access to the program from January 2024 onwards.
The specific details of the application process will be announced in the near future. It's important to note that this pilot program will be closely linked to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, offering a more efficient and accessible pathway for employers to secure LMIA approvals.
